Tell FDA: Reduce Nicotine Levels in Cigarettes!
Submit a Salud America! model comment to reduce nicotine levels in cigarettes to lessen addictiveness and help improve health outcomes for Latinos and all people!
Smoking cigarettes, which contain nicotine, an addictive chemical, is responsible for killing nearly half a million people in the U.S. each year.
That’s why many ultimately make the decision to quit.
However, cigarettes contain nicotine, an addictive chemical that makes quitting extremely difficult, especially after you’ve been exposed to harmful amounts for a period of time.
That’s one of the reasons the FDA is proposing a rule aimed at making cigarettes less addictive by limiting the amount of nicotine in cigarettes.
If finalized, the reduction of nicotine in cigarettes could help people kick the habit or quit before they become addicted leading to better health outcomes.
From now until Sept. 15, 2025, you can voice your opinion in favor of the FDA rule by submitting a model comment created by Salud America!
