Comment Now: Limit Added Sugars in Dietary Guidelines!
We need Dietary Guidelines for Americans that are consistent with current science about no added sugars for children up to age 2, and a lower recommended limit of added sugars among a person's daily calories!
An independent Advisory Committee published a scientific report that urged the USDA and HHS to, in the Dietary Guidelines, reduce added sugars from 10% of daily calories to 6%. They also suggest no sugary drinks for children up to age 2.
"Calories from sugar-sweetened beverages may displace those from nutritious foods and increase the risk of the child becoming overweight," according to a recent article in the Washington Post.
Comment now to ensure USDA and HHS support the committee's recommendations!
