Support the Use of Promotoras for Public Health and Vaccine Education!
Submit this Salud America! model comment to tell HHS about the importance of using bilingual, bicultural promotoras to promote public health vaccines and prevention!
Latino and other communities of color have become increasingly unresponsive or lack access to health information.
The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Minority Health (OMH) is seeking public comments on the use of community health workers to increase “cultural competency in educational campaigns on public health vaccines and prevention, including but not limited to influenza and COVID-19.”
Use your voice to speak up about the impact bilingual, bicultural promotoras have on the health and health literacy of Latino communities as a way to increase cultural competency in public health initiatives.
