Tell FHWA: Apply a Public Health and Safety Approach to Transportation Engineering!
Speak up for the revision of one of transportation engineering’s “bibles,” the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways (MUTCD). It was last rewritten 50 years ago from the point of view of expediting vehicle movement.
It is time for a public health and safety approach to reframe transportation engineering guidance.
